Slow-Mo Home Depot

This is a beautiful piece of poetic terrorism involving several hundred people moving in slow motion in Manhattan's Home Depot, then freezing in place for 5 minutes. Direct link to video.

Bumping

This might be old news to some, but I found it refreshingly scary: "Locked, but not secure."

And you thought cats couldn't defend your home...

...boy, were you wrong. If you had a cat like Jack you wouldn't ever need fear trespassers of any size.

Jeff Dunham rocks!

He's got a PhD, but it's not in driving.

So the Subie just left here on the back of a flatbed. It seems that Pablo and I had a bit more of an adventure than we planned on when we set out on a nice drive of the back roads. I guess the technical nature of the crash was the low coefficient of friction provided by the gravel, compounded by the immovability of a tree and the relative ductility of the Subaru's body. The tree luckily hit the rear passenger side door, blew out both that window and the rear, crushed the door, the roof, and the C-pillar, as well as some minor damage to the front clip. I'll have pictures up now. We're both all right, though a little shaken. I guess I need to think about replacement vehicles... Poop.

Update 8/12/06:
We've had the car towed to a body shop of our choosing. Progressive has been dragging their heels. We're going Monday to get a battery for the Bike, maybe talk about trading it in on a cruiser/commuter bike. Maybe I should trade the WRX on a Minivan? The question was a joke.. C'mon, I'm not that old... Although, a minivan that can do the 1/4 mile in 12 seconds sounds nice.
This is how to open a crumpled door.
