The mind boggles at the possibilities if you were to:

1. Quietly and calmly open up your laptop case.
2. Remove your laptop.
3. Boot it.
4. Make sure the person who won’t leave you alone can see the screen.
5. Open your email client to this message.
6. Close your eyes and tilt your head up to the sky.
7. Then hit this link: http://www.thecleverest.com/countdown.swf

Gravity Kills

In response to E's earlier posting, I offer this lyric from a song by Mudvayne, Mercy, Severity:

" I feel like earth's gravity is just here to pull us down"

This is sung in a raw, plaintive, and deep aggrieved tone, bordering on the Cookie Monster voice.

Cheers!

The Rosslyn Motet

I find this article captivating. It's about a father and son team who discovered music encoded in a 600-year old statue in Scotland using an ancient musical system called cymatics, or Chladni patterns. Stones on the statue map directly to specific pitches and the statue itself holds a scale for interpreting them.

This kind of time-displaced communication speaks of a patience and will that I don't often encounter in this email-tinged world. For reasons I can't explain it made my eyes tear to hear this music [Link to YouTube video].
